Here's my long story short.
I've been an entrepreneur since 2008.
FROM BRICK TO CLICK
My parents always encouraged me to find work I loved—because if I did, it would never feel like work. That advice stuck. At just 15 years old, with the guidance of my entrepreneur mom, I opened my first LLC: Erica's Hip Hop Dance. I rented a facility and taught classes for four hours straight after school. Through this first business, I discovered something life-changing: it was possible to earn income doing what I loved. And yes, I even bought myself a motorcycle with that first paycheck—because, honestly, what else does a 15-year-old need? What I didn’t realize then was that this experience was setting me up for a lifetime of entrepreneurship.
Fast forward: I’m young, married, and pursuing a degree in health and fitness. In 2015, I launched Soul Fitt, a women’s fitness and dance studio. I ran Soul Fitt for nine years before passing it on to my head trainers—proudly watching it continue to thrive without me. That business taught me more lessons than I could have imagined about leadership, growth, and creating a brand that outlives its founder. As much as I loved running a brick-and-mortar studio, life had other plans. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, homeschool my kids, and travel the country with them. A physical business made that dream feel nearly impossible.
Then came 2020. Covid hit. Gyms closed. My studio income froze. But this challenge became my turning point. I pivoted Soul Fitt to an online membership, helping women work out from home via Zoom. That’s when I discovered the power of location-free, online business. Since then, I’ve invested five years and thousands of dollars learning the art of online courses, memberships, and coaching programs. I’ve built multiple successful programs and learned how to turn expertise into income that doesn’t tie me to a physical location.
Today, I teach others exactly what I’ve learned so they can do the same. Now, I work one day a week and spend the rest of my time doing what I love: traveling across the U.S. with my family in our RV—without ever sacrificing income or freedom.
